MHS Professional Development SMART Goal: Curriculum Analysis
For the school year 2012-2013, Manhattan High faculty will analyze current curriculum, understand educational trends, and evaluate knowledge and skills needed for college and career readiness with having students’ complete rigorous programs of study. The ultimate goal is for students to have the capability to acquire certifications/licenses, be employable in a related field, be admitted into a college/university degree, etc., to become a productive citizen in our society.
.
Throughout this process, we will do the following in order to meet our goal -
  • re-visiting the curriculum analysis of our comparitive schools that was started last year,
  • reviewing discussions from the United Way education series from this past summer,
  • analyzing national, state, and common core standards in each curricular area, as applicable,
  • discussing our current curriculum,
  • considering both educational trends and current/future community needs, and
  • working with career cluster/pathway programs of study.
